At its heart, Bantam is a small plate and wine bar restaurant. It features globally inspired food, an extensive wine list and late openings. The menu showcases international cuisine, bold flavours and unique spice combinations. In the spring, summer and fall when the local produce stands are full up with their bounty, Bantam partners with the farmers to provide the freshest ingredients for our dishes.

There is a balanced and tempting wine list featuring wines from around the world and many from local wineries in Prince Edward County. The wine is offered by the glass including a small 2 ounce glass to give an opportunity to try more than one (or two!) with each of the small plates.

The restaurant has four cozy booths for an intimate and private dining experience which have a view of the kitchen where you can watch your meal being prepared.

Bantam is the sister restaurant to The Marans. A Bantam is a small chicken and the newly opened restaurant is the small addition to The Marans family. The Marans expansion to a larger location has made room for Bantam to operate at 222 Main Street, Picton. The cozy space in the Regent Theatre is a perfect spot for late night dining. Small plates and sample sizes glasses of wines allow diners to experience and sample a more diverse range of flavours and dishes while pairing them with petite glasses of wines.

Bantam is operated by Guerin Sykes’ partner in crime, Rollande Crawford! Rollande has worked with Guerin for many years and is excited to be part of this restaurant venture.

Bantam’s menu will continue to be a reflection of Guerin’s unique cooking style and often bringing surprise dishes to frequently changing menus. Customer satisfaction will remain our top priority with consistent and friendly service that makes everyone feel at home. Welcome to Bantam!
